Architecture for everyone.
We are opening up buildings across Bern to a wide audience during the two-day OPEN HOUSE BERN festival. Open House Bern is a decentralised architecture event offering free entry to a diverse and carefully curated programme of buildings – including expert-led tours, self-guided visits, city walks, site visits, workshops and a children’s programme. Regardless of age, background, level of education or income, visitors are given the opportunity to engage with their own city, their neighbourhood and Bern’s built environment for free.

We are already looking forward to the next edition of Open House Bern on 5 and 6 June 2027. Once again, numerous exciting, impressive and historic buildings will be open to the public free of charge, offering fascinating insights into the properties and their uses. You can look forward to a comprehensive programme again this year, which will be published on our website from the start of 2027. In the meantime, you can explore our architectural heritage collection.
