Swiss public favourite in the "Building of the Year 2024" category by SwissArchitects
The new building creates space for intergenerational, communal living and forms a cohesive whole – both architecturally and socially – with the manor house built by Moser & Schürch in 1928. The design is shaped by the building’s listed status, the requirements of the building regulations and the preservation of the striking copper beeches on the site.
With a diagonal ridge and roof corners that slope steeply downwards, the building blends in with the tree canopy and the eaves of the existing structure. A delicate trellis system allows for extensive greening of the façade and roof.
