Description

A federal administrative centre has been under construction at Guisanplatz 1 in Bern since 2013. This project website provides a detailed insight into the current construction phase, sustainability standards and their implementation.

Bringing government departments together in locations close to the city centre and with good transport links offers many advantages: short distances, optimal use of shared infrastructure and access to public transport.
The administrative centre is situated in a diverse setting between a residential neighbourhood, a football stadium, the Allmend park and the Expo site.

Phase 1 (Building A, Building B and Building 1), comprising the conversion, new construction and refurbishment of the listed building, was completed in 2019. Phase 2 involves a new building in the north of the site and is due for completion in summer 2026.
