Im Reich der Stadtvögel

Biodiversity tour of Bremgarten cemetery
Further information

Which habitats in urban areas can be utilised by nature? Which creatures live where? What architectural measures can be taken to benefit as many species as possible? Faunaberna addresses all these questions at the "green jewel" of the city of Bern: the Bremgarten cemetery!

Its use as a cemetery and local recreation area, as well as the fact that it is a valuable garden monument of the city of Bern, make the site a small oasis where every Bernese citizen is only too happy to take a break. Redstarts, fireflies and green woodpeckers also feel right at home here.

Faunaberna offers two short guided tours of the cemetery on Sunday mornings. The ornithologists and conservationists will provide interesting information about the management of the park, the value of such green spaces and their feathered and non-feathered inhabitants.
