The urban arrangement of three buildings standing almost parallel to each other between Wylerfeldstrasse and Wylerringstrasse represented an unusually progressive housing solution in the spirit of Classic Modernism at the time of its construction and was a special architectural feature in the city of Bern. The new replacement building enabled a considerable expansion of urban living space within the urban development plan laid down in 1954. Three six-storey buildings were constructed, focussing on affordable living space for families. Two of the buildings have an identical design, while the third has a different design and cubature and accentuates the development towards Scheibenstrasse. Due to the central location in the city, the development was deliberately designed to be car-free.
