2022 - 2025 Complete refurbishment, BauSpektrum AG Münsingen
On behalf of the Intergovernmental Organisation for International Carriage by Rail (OTIF), the office building, which is worthy of preservation, underwent a complete refurbishment in collaboration with the monument preservation authorities. The refurbishment at Gryphenhübeliweg in Bern achieved Minergie Eco status and technically upgraded the earthquake safety to current standards. The entire building services were also replaced and the oil tank was switched to geothermal probes. The additional extension expands the conference hall and foyer with operationally relevant additional functions such as an IT room, kitchen, interpreter booths and garden room/meeting room. Particular care was taken to preserve the original design of the filigree façade with its bronze-coloured metal profiles and glass panels. The interior of the building is characterised by works of art by the renowned artist Hans Erni and colourful mosaics. The preservation of these cultural elements gives the building a unique, artistic atmosphere. The outdoor space was restored to its historical state with the help of Stadt Grün Bern and the monument preservation authorities and expanded with new elements. A pergola, flowering lawn, rowan tree (Sorbus aucuparia) and electric mobility connect the historic with the future.
