With the Paul Klee Centre, Italian star architect Renzo Piano has created a light-flooded landscape sculpture made of glass and steel. The building with the three iconic hills is located in the east of Bern in the immediate vicinity of the Schosshalden cemetery with Paul Klee's grave.
Based on Klee's activities as a painter, musician, teacher and researcher, each of the building's three hills has a different focus.
On the north hill, young and old can view the interactive exhibition in the Creaviva and get creative themselves in the studio. In addition, the Auditorium offers a room with excellent acoustics for music - here you can enjoy regular readings and masterclass concerts.
The centre hill invites you to immerse yourself in art. Here you will find the two exhibition rooms with an area of around 2,400m2, where "Le Corbusier. The Order of Things" is currently on display.
The exhibition is dedicated to the working process of the Swiss-French artist-architect, designer and urban planner and emphasises Le Corbusier's sculptural thinking.
The Lang Baumann sculpture in the South Hill is a great place to linger. At the rear are the administration and research areas with a large library and archive, which are only accessible by appointment.
